Quercetin belongs to a group of plant pigments, the flavonoids, which give many fruits, flowers and vegetables their color. Flavonoids, such as quercetin, are antioxidants. They scavenge particles in the body known as free radicals, which damage cell membranes, manipulate DNA and even caused cell death.
Quercetin has an anti-inflammatory effect and can therefore help the body to alleviate the discomfort caused by pollen allergies, coughs, asthma and other respiratory problems. It removes impurities from the lungs and thus ensures easy breathing.
